Junior Aviation Certificate Instructors

Position: Instructors / Teachers

Reports to: Managing Director, QAPD Director, Head of Training

Location: Harare

Job type: Hybrid (Remote/Training center)

Employment type: Contract

About the Job

We are looking for qualified, competent, and passionate Instructors who can elevate our student’s potential and tutor them to attain their JAC Certificate. It’s a great opportunity for someone with significant experience in the aviation industry who is interested in teaching and sharing their expertise to equip the next generation of aspiring aviation professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Developing module lesson plans that meet program and industry requirements as well as reflect our organization’s brand and approach to learning in the following areas (Aviation Environment, Aircraft basics and systems, flight principles, safety and security, Introduction to Aviation).
  • Presenting lesson plans on scheduled class days in an engaging and well-communicated manner
  • Supporting various learning styles by providing several strategies for consuming the same content (ex: slides, lecturing, videos, and readings)
  • Giving students additional support and guidance when asked, or as you see a need
  • Assessing students fairly on course material, projects, exams, and other objectives according to pre-established assessment methods
  • Providing students with access to assessment method guides/rubrics before and after assessments as well as constructive feedback when needed
  • Assist in the Adjusting of course outlines on an annual basis to ensure information is up-to-date and relevant.
  • Staying up-to-date on aviation trends and changes in the industry/field through personal research as well as attending seminars, conferences, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements and skills, Competences

Must have any of the following:

  • Proven experience in aviation. Minimum 2 years, 5 years minimum preferred.
  • MBsc/ MBA/BSc/BA in Aviation Management, Airline Management, Aviation Safety and Security Management, Aeronautical engineering or relevant field
  • Aircraft Maintenance B1/B2 Licence holder or National Diploma
  • Commercial Pilot Licence minimum 250hr
  • Certified Flight Instructor Grade 1-3
  • Proven teaching experience in aviation, travel, and tourism fields. Minimum 5 years

We are looking for recent graduates, that are passionate about the aviation industry with demonstrated competencies and the ability to teach aviation basic topics within the JAC program. It’s a great opportunity for a recent graduate looking to expand their knowledge while gaining industrial experience.

  • Proven experience in Customer service 5 years minimum. Experience as Airport customer service agent or Passenger handling senior agent preferred.

  • MBsc/ MBA/BSc/BA/National Diploma in Aviation Management, Tourism and hospitality. Passenger handling / Aviation passenger agent certificate from a credible institution/IATA/CAA.
  •  
  • Proven teaching experience in aviation, travel, and tourism fields. Minimum 5 years preferred.
